Press Release: New Alliance Partner Program
PGP CORPORATION LAUNCHES ALLIANCE PARTNER PROGRAM WITH 10
SECURITY MARKET LEADERS
Alliances complement PGP network- and desktop-based security
solutions
Palo Alto, CA/18 November, 2003 – PGP Corporation, the recognized leader in secure messaging and information storage, today announced the first 10 members of its newly formed Alliance Partner Program. Initial members, all leaders in their respective security market segments, are Aladdin Knowledge Systems, Altitude Software, Axalto (a Schlumberger Company), F5 Networks, GeoTrust, Giesecke & Devrient, nCipher, Rainbow Technologies, Sophos, and WholeSecurity.
The Alliance Partners' products and services enhance the depth and breadth of PGP Corporation's recently announced PGP® Universal product, the first network proxy- and protocol-based software to deliver secure messaging automatically and transparently to users, as well as the company's popular PGP Desktop solutions.
Program Focus
"Our overriding objective is to help customers protect
all their information assets with our encryption and authentication
technology," said Phillip Dunkelberger, PGP President and
CEO. "Yet we understand customers deploy a wide range of
associated technologies that must work together. Our Alliance
Partner Program gives customers confidence that PGP technology
integrates well with other best-of-breed security
solutions."
Alliance Partners - Each Alliance partner adds unique value to the PGP product family.
Certificates
- GeoTrust, a leader in identity and trust services, provides SSL Server certificates to secure communication between PGP Universal Server, the network administrator, and webmail recipients. Geotrust gives PGP Universal customers ready and economical access to QuickSSL certificates, which are recognized and trusted in broadly deployed consumer Web browsers.
Hardware
- nCipher, a leader in cryptographic Internet security products, provides a Hardware Security Module (HSM) as an add-on purchase for customers wanting to add an extra layer of hardware protection to the PGP Universal Server. PGP customers can store user keys and their Organization Key behind nCipher's FIPS 140-2 level 3 HSM.
Software
- Altitude Software, a leader in call center solutions, will integrate PGP Universal Server with its Unified Customer Interaction TM product, allowing its customers to secure confidential email automatically, eliminate end-user interaction, and reduce training and support costs without deploying new software.
- F5 Networks, the leading provider of secure Application Traffic Management products, will provide high availability and load balancing functionality for customers with high-traffic PGP Universal Servers via its BIG-IP products and iControl TM API (application programming interface).
- Sophos, a world leader in anti-virus and anti-spam solutions for businesses, will provide close interoperability between Sophos's anti-virus MailMonitor software suite and PGP Universal Server to ensure encrypted email is safe from viral attacks.
- WholeSecurity, the leading provider of on-demand endpoint security solutions, will make its Confidence Online TM software available so PGP customers may protect endpoints anytime, anywhere against eavesdropping and remote control threats including keystroke loggers, Trojan horses, and other malicious code.
Smart Cards & Tokens
- Aladdin Knowledge Systems, Axalto (a Schlumberger Company), Giesecke & Devrient, and Rainbow Technologies provide smart cards, USB tokens, and other form factors allowing PGP customers to store and verify keys, certificates, and signatures as well as encrypt and decrypt information. All Alliance Partners' smart cards and tokens support the PKCS #11 Cryptographic Token Interface Standard and can be used with PGP Universal and PGP Desktop solutions.
