TOP PGP CORPORATION EXECUTIVE JOINS TECHNET'S CEO
CYBERSECURITY TASK FORCE
Phillip M. Dunkelberger brings information security expertise to
bipartisan efforts to strengthen national security
Palo Alto, CA/12 May, 2003 – PGP Corporation, the recognized leader in secure messaging and data storage, announced today that its CEO, Phillip Dunkelberger, has joined TechNet's CEO Cybersecurity Task Force. TechNet is an executive network that promotes economic and technological growth by advocating a targeted policy agenda through strong relationships with government policymakers. It includes more than 150 chief executive officers and senior partners in the fields of information technology, biotechnology, venture capital, investment banking, and law.
The CEO Cybersecurity Task Force helps to promote sound policy and best practices in network security as well as support public-private efforts to protect the Internet. Its members represent leading computer networking, hardware, software, and electronic security companies, including HP, Netegrity, RSA Security, Symantec, VeriSign, and Wind River Systems.
"I look forward to working with my peers in achieving key Task Force initiatives this year," says Dunkelberger. "I am pleased to dedicate time and input to critical policymaking and to promoting best practices in data security."
As part of the Task Force, Dunkelberger will participate in a range of activities, including meeting face-to-face with government and political leaders, advocating public policies that strengthen the innovation economy, networking with other industry executives, and strengthening financial support of political candidates.
Task Force initiatives include a challenge to companies to meet a cybersecurity baseline within a specific timeframe, and to create a forum on regulatory and legal developments regarding information sharing by high-tech companies with appropriate government bodies and industry organizations.
Dunkelberger has more than 22 years of technology experience and extensive information security industry expertise. Directly before taking the helm of PGP Corporation in 2002, he served as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at DCM-Doll Capital Management (DCM). Prior to DCM, he was President and CEO of Embark, a Web-based recruitment and admissions software company. Prior to Embark, he was President and COO of Vantive Corporation, a vendor of enterprise CRM software products. He also previously served as CEO of PGP, Inc., when it was a private company, and as Vice President of Sales at Symantec. He serves on Horn Group's Advisory Council and is a member of Project Arena's Advisory Board
