Press Release: New PGP Command Line Products

PGP CORPORATION INTRODUCES NEW PGP COMMAND LINE PRODUCTS TO SECURE BATCHED SERVER-TO-SERVER DATA TRANSFER

PGP Corporation's new PGP Command Line products permit enterprises to secure transaction and data transfer with proven PGP encryption technology

Palo Alto, CA/27 January, 2004 – PGP Corporation, the global leader in digital information security, today announced a new set of software tools for advanced IT users who need the ability to encrypt large amounts of batch information. PGP® Command Line provides the ability to insert PGP scripts into existing batch and file transfer programs to ensure information is transmitted using PGP encryption. The product is designed for financial groups, health care organizations, and other enterprises that regularly move large amounts of sensitive information between data centers. PGP Command Line, based on proven, trusted, and supported PGP technology, is aggressively priced relative to solutions available from other vendors.

"PGP Command Line is a natural extension of the PGP product line," said Phillip Dunkelberger, President & CEO of PGP Corporation. "Our customers will be able to purchase secure enterprise messaging, secure data storage, and secure batch transfer products all from one trusted source. Our new PGP Command Line products are always based on the newest version of the PGP SDK, which will include support for X.509 and S/MIME standards as well as incorporate widely accepted PGP Additional Decryption Key (ADK) technology. We know our customers will find great value in these new solutions."

The Product
The first fully supported product, which will ship in April 2004, is PGP Command Line 8.5. This product, based on PGP Corporation's SDK 3.2, will be available on Windows, Linux, and Solaris platforms. PGP Command Line 9.0, based on PGP Corporation's new SDK 3.5, will ship in the third quarter of this year and include support for X.509 and S/MIME. PGP Command Line 9.0 will be available on Windows, Linux, Solaris, and Mac OS X. Additional releases planned for this year will support additional environments.

Users with the technical ability to deploy their own Command Line solution using the PGP SDK may purchase the product immediately. Such customers will receive a copy of the PGP SDK and a Command Line SDK license allowing immediate use of PGP technology; these customers will also receive a copy of the commercial PGP Command Line product, when available.

All PGP Command Line products support PGP ADK capability. Use of an ADK has proven to be a widely adopted practice to ensure a corporation has access to all its proprietary information even if employee keys are lost or become unavailable.

Availability & Pricing
PGP Command Line capability through the PGP SDK 3.2 is available immediately. PGP Command Line 8.5, with full technical support, will ship in April 2004, followed by PGP Command Line 9.0 in the third quarter of this year. Immediately available SDK-based products will be sold exclusively via the PGP website ( www.pgp.com/products/commandline.html). PGP Command Line 8.5 and future products will also be available through PGP channel partners.

PGP Command Line is licensed per server (not per CPU) that sends secure batched data. Products are priced based on the number of public/private key pairs used by the PGP Command Line licensed server. A 1-year subscription license for a single server key sending to a single recipient server key (2-key license) is available on the PGP website for $4,500. A single server key sending to five recipient server keys (6-key license) is priced at $7,500; and a single server key sending to nine recipient server keys (10-key license) is $12,000. No additional licenses are required to use a PGP ADK or backup servers.

"There has been a void in the marketplace without PGP Command Line functionality directly from PGP," commented Andrew Krcik, Vice President of Marketing for PGP Corporation. "We have priced and packaged PGP Command Line so in the future, all customers can use authentic PGP products without hesitation or compromise."
