Press Release: LOGS Financial Selects PGP Universal
LOGS SELECTS PGP UNIVERSAL TO SECURE ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS
Northbrook, IL/14 April, 2004 – In order to protect sensitive client information and to respond to industry regulations, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, LOGS Financial Services, Inc. and its network of law office customers have selected the PGP® Universal encryption product to protect "confidential" e-mail messages. LOGS Financial Services, Inc. is a provider of proactive default management solutions in the mortgage industry. Among the services it provides are networking infrastructure, e-mail management, and Internet security for a national network of law firms engaged primarily in liquidating delinquent loans for mortgage company clients.
David Kreisman, managing partner of Shapiro & Kreisman, LLC and vice chairman of the LOGS Legal Network, says "The confidentiality of our communications with clients must be retained, and we have been extremely concerned that the speed and ease of use of electronic mail would result in a loss of privacy and attorney-client privilege. LOGS is committed to providing an appropriate solution to our problem, and we believe our law firms now have the protection they need."
The network-based product will secure the confidential loan and case information LOGS-or any of the law firms for which it provides email and network security-sends via e-mail, and it will do so by automatically encrypting e-mail messages, according to the security policies defined by LOGS and its customers.
"I felt that an automatic, transparent product, like PGP Universal, would eliminate the guesswork and potential risk associated with lesser products that require the employee to determine the need for encryption," says Tom Bradham, LOGS' Chief Information Officer. Neither the sender's computer nor the recipients' computers needs any special software, and users do not need special training to take advantage of PGP Universal's automatic encryption, decryption, and digital signature capabilities.
"This implementation will bring us into compliance with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act ahead of many others in the financial services area," Bradham says. PGP Corporation is the recognized industry leader in secure messaging and digital information storage.
"Financial services organizations such as LOGS are playing a leading role in implementing solutions to protect the electronic exchange of confidential information," says Phil Dunkelberger, president and CEO of PGP Corporation. "We are pleased the company has selected PGP Universal as its secure-messaging solution. The product's centralized management and two-way policy enforcement will help ensure regulatory compliance with users inside and outside the organization."
